following the controversial policy to peg cut-off marks at 120, Lagos State University has adopted 190 as its cut off point for admission. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun on a Talk Radio program, Morning Digest With Jimi Disu on Tuesday, August 29, said that the Senate of Lagos State University has decided that the minimum point for admission in the school be pegged at 190. "The cut-off point for LASU is 190. If you don't have a score of 190 you can not even register on the platform, it wouldn't accept you because it has been programmed for that. Fagboun further explained that there is a difference between institutional cut-off and program cut-off saying that candidates would have to meet both cut-offs to read the course of their choice at the state university. If you want to read Medicine, its cut off may be 275, if you want to read Chemistry, it may be 250 and at the end of the day, you will find out that the cut off is always there. Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai, Professor Muhammad Nasir has also announced that the institution has pegged its cut-off point at 160.
