One of the critical factors that favour citing a business or an industry is SECURITY but the region is too volatile for IOC to locate their business there.

Just 2days ago, they killed innocent military men. How would someone in his right sense bring business to that kind of environment?

The incessant taxing and kidnapping of company staffs is responsible for this.
If the youths can guarantee the safety of oil company staffs, they will happily
relocate.

Well inasmuch as this might not be the best move i commend the IYC the only time and best time for NIGER DELTA to take action is now in the next 20 years oil wont pull sway again and other regions will laugh at Niger Delta after the wealth of the region have be drained to developed other areas...

would have voted for regional autonomy but even We-we get our issue, and it might be tantamount to hate or treason speech but ND needs to do what its best for her self at the point...
The Centre can not hold for long if things continue the way they are going, refusing restructuring and aiding sectarian polities and activities on many fronts

Who cares? What we need are competent men / women. Let's focus on that first. Tribe is not important.

*modified* I am not saying those northern lucky Bastardz are more competent, all I am saying is judge them based on competence and not based on tribe.

This is part of the things we are talking about. Their kinsman was there for 5 years without knowing the right things to do and none of them could raise even stick to protest his maladministration. Is it the fulani man from far north that will now right the wrong of their brother. South south and south east need sense in their agitation. Too bad for them
the Fulani and the north have been in power for years while their lands and water have been damaged and their oil used to develop other regions, the oil wells have been shared amongst Fulani and the north ,their brother who was there wasn't even allowed to breath rather the dogs and baboons spilled blood of the innocent just to get him out by all means.bros you people should stop commenting out of hatred

The truth must be told: the Niger Delta people cannot eat their cake and have it. How do you expect multi national oil companies to relocate their operational headquarters to an area where their eggheads are exposed to kidnapping for ransom, murders, pipeline vandalism etc which have become a daily occurrence? The ND people complain daily of lack of infrastructure yet expatriates supervising projects in the area are wantonly killed, kidnapped or prevented from doing their work due to one community crisis or the other. Even security personnel providing security cover in the ND area are regularly ambushed either on land or at sea and killed.
Thus, the cost of doing construction works in the area is so high because the cost of providing insurance and extra security is factored in during the bidding process.
If this trend continues unabated, I see the oil companies concentrating more on offshore drilling activities thereby avoiding the ND area as much as possible. I also don't see the oil companies relocating their headquarters to the ND area in the nearest future.

So we yorubas that everyday news of our men and women involved heavily in ritualism and stealing are not agressive.
Or northerners and their boko haram are not aggressive
I support them 100 percent and the most bueatiful thing is that sat sat and sat east-biafrans- are now uniting
The divide and conquer rule is now over.

Good move... Pikin wey say em mama no go sleep shall also not sleep. None but ourselves can free our minds, Arise Niger Delta, Arise.

Soon oil would be irrelevant, and we would leave with the consequences of our actions forever more.

Take a look at Olobiri today, who would have thought that was the first place we found oil. Nigerians are wicked and desperately selfish. Niger Delta stand firm for yourself!!!

When GEJ was the President, why didn't they protest?

See what they did to this Government Board. That's exactly what they'll do to the companies who make the mistake of relocating to the area.

A member of the board who pleaded anonymity told The Guardian yesterday that it was surprising that while the youths were pleading for the relocation of multinational oil companies, they were harassing the few that were in the region.
Who wants to risk his or her life when we all know that the region is very volatile considering what we hear on TV's and newspapers.....

Over recycled excuse espoused by Yorubas who benefit from the non relocation and siting of oil companies offices in the ND, but successfully deceived and convinced the people of South South to see the already marginalised Igbos as their problem for several years.
Now even the militants know who the real enemies of their progress are which made them to join the Arewa youths to declare some people persona non grata by October 1, though condemnable but a point has to be made.

Continue to blame GEJ because it was him who relocated the NLNG dockyard from Bonny to Badagri.

Last time the Lagos/Ibadan media so much noise was made about Lagos becoming a major oil state but till now we can't feel the impact.

mere fantasy is a figment of your imagination

when last do you see someone adorn with a dress designed with Nigeria flag ..huh

Check your wardrobe if there is any of your materials designed with Nigeria flag, if not where is your patriotism

take a look at ipob rallies, from shoes, caps, clothes, including motor vehicle colours, houses, pets, in fact virtually any valuable objects are designed in Biafra colour

this is when Biafra struggle is still on going

what would happen when Biafra is finally granted... oh my gush, including Bridges Will be painted in Biafra colour

Niger delta youths should speak with themselves and negotiate for progress with brains and not violence.

Not every thing can be addressed with violence.Gather yourselves and offer unrivaled security to foreigners in your land.Deal with any indigent from within or outside the Teri tory that breaches the agreement and make sure strangers are safe.Only then can you truly get the development you seek

No sane bussiness man will relocate human and capital resources to a kidnap and high risk region to please the locals when they have options.Thats common sense.

Gather yourselves and discuss our to address the investors fear and maybe there can be some progress on this

While not justifying the action of the boys, the information here is wrong.

The boys were not protesting because they wanted offices relocated. It is not the job of NCDMB to relocate offices to Niger Delta.

What they were protesting against was that the headquarters of the company in Bayelsa was non-functional.

They also said the company should not have offices outside oil producing states.

The protesters were zonal, the national already met and agreed with NCDMB mgt on certain areas of cooperation.

Can the zonal override the national IYC?

Zonal can override national or and worldwide where corruption has been established.
