This is the popular computer village beside MTN service center at Elelenwo, opposite Oil mill market, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The building collapsed and properties have been destroyed due to the heavy rainfall since yesterday afternoon. The road is also flooded. From the pictures, one would observe that those structures are clearly on erosion channel. You should not expect less when you build on erosion course. It is like staying on the path of soldier ants Ignorance like this on the part of many Nigerian landlords promote flooding. After, they will ask Govt to come to their aid. When Govt says they will have to demolish their structures to avert the problem, they would say NO. Many people build without vision. 9 Likes |
