Senator Rashidi Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State has declared interest in the race for the National Chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ladoja, who left the PDP to form Accord Party (AP) had rejoined the PDP a fortnight ago after he was visited by the National leadership of the PDP led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

During the meeting, Ladoja had said he never intended to leave the PDP but was forced to do so by powers that be.

INDEPENDENT had last week reported that some key members are plotting against the South West producing the national chairman of the party citing disunity in the zone and the fact that aspirants for the position such as Chief Bode George, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Prof Tunde Adeniran cannot look at former president, Olusegun Obasanjo in the face.

Ladoja, who was impeached as governor in 2005 under controversial circumstances had not forgiven Obasanjo over the role the former president played in the plot.

Obasanjo, had taken sides with the late Lamidi Adedibu, whom he described as the ‘garrison commander of Oyo Politics’ against Ladoja
