- Note-taking encourages active listening, provides a framework for revision & better understanding.
- In a large lecture space, ensure you are sitting as close to the lecturer as possible so as to listen for clues to important points - we wouldn't advice relying on the public address system as it could malfunction.
- You don't have to write everything down, put down important points and try to paraphrase what you hear.
- Employ the use of short hand writings & symbols.
- Review your jottings within 24hrs as the new information is still fresh in your head.
- For better understanding, ask questions and consult textbooks.
