Read the words of the Governor and then see reaction of traders when he visited yesterday on the photo. That's the difference between Social media and reality. “To say that no provision was made for the traders is not true. Ekeukwu as it stands has about 1,600 shops, today Imo State government has provided over 11,000 shops. In order words, the entire Ekeukwu and all other markets that will soon go cannot occupy all the shops that we have built. Adequate preparation was made and we have been on this thing for the past five years and traders know that they will one day leave that place. Politicians went to court without the consent of the traders and got an interim junction which had expired over one year and the property was adequately revoked and gazetted before the action was taken”. 1 Like 1 Share

Okorocha divided owerri into 5 autonomous communities. The four appointed by okorocha are the ones that endorsed the relocation. The 5th one which is the original one did not endorse it |

Was there a court order to stop execution? Did the elders endorse the shooting of people? Does Okorocha take instructions from traditional rulers? |

in as much as I don't like okorocha, but if Imo state must develop, that market have to be demolished. If not for what Nasir el-Rufai did in abuja, it wouldn't have been developed as it is today. Many were against him then, same with lagos state government. My only annoyance is the little boy that lost his life and okorocha's reaction. My imo people should calm down and allow owerri to be developed |

omenkaLives: you should be more concerned on the flood happening in your village. I wonder why you are running up and down on SE threads looking for troubles. You should learn from US how they helped their neighbours moving them to a safe place during texas flooding. They are human like you that's if you even have 1800 to sub your gotv and watch cnn |

Omeokachie: Scroll up and read what the Governor said. The court injunction was by politicians and it has expired. |

Abagworo: Nna, I am reading the communique you posted and not the excerpt that does not have a link... Are Court orders instituted by "politicians" not meant to be obeyed? Do court order have an expiry date without being set aside by another court ruling? If yes, when did this order "expire"? Wonders shall never end. |

Isoko1stSon: What is the relationship between Isoko in Delta State, an Edoid group, with Rochas Okorocha in Imo State? This guy is not an Isoko person. He is an IPOB youth from the East impersonating the good people of Isoko ethnic nationality. Everyone should take note. No Isoko person would create a username such as his. It's so sad that he is misrepresenting the collective wishes of Isoko people here on Nairaland. |
