DRY - A Poem By Betty Udo by inkdbetty(f): 12:12am On Sep 08, 2017
Wilted flowers in the hot
sun
Dry brown eyes
Prickling heat
Scratching rashes
Hardened kinky curls Ebony skin and dehydrated
tongue
A wandering soul on an
endless journey in search
of hope and rest.
Surrounded by oil stained waters
And burning zinc
Dying tree stumps, trees
cut in half.
Dirty streets, refuse
stacks. Desert of pain, too weak to
cry.
Trampled upon, she lost
her voice.
