Today I want to talk bout women abusing
emergency contraceptive known as Postinor-2 in
this clime and like 3 people suggested it would
be better highlighting the dangers that comes
from the abuse and I agreed.
So this is it (I nicked most of it off online, would
have told you to go there and read it but I know
most people won't have the patience to so....)
Postinor-2 contains 2 tablets of 0.75mg active
ingredient called levonorgestrel and it's is a
contraceptive used in preventing pregnancy. It is
also known as the 'Morning After Pill'
Unlike other contraceptives that can be taken
everyday, this one is an emergency
contraceptive. When used within 72 hours of
unprotected sex, it helps reduce the chances of
being pregnant.
Postinor-2 is estimated to be about 90%
effective. The effectiveness of this drug is
dependent on the time of usage. It is believed
that Postinor-2 will prevent about 95% of
expected pregnancies when taken within the first
24 hours of having unprotected sex. The
percentage reduces when this contraceptive is
taken between 48-72 hours of unprotected
intercourse.
Many young ladies make it arbitrary to use
Postinor-2 anytime they feel like; making it an
everyday pill. This drug wasn't made as a regular
method of contraception contrary to the way it’s
been abused. Most ladies are naïve; consuming
the pills in clinically unsafe ways. They use
these drugs without knowing the way it interacts
with the body system forgetting people react to
drugs in different ways.
There are lots of risks associated with the
constant use of this drug; just like the abuse of
any other drug.
So here are the dangers;
1. Spotting and Bleeding
Postinor-2 could cause spotting and bleeding
when used excessively. Some ladies bleed for
days upon use of the contraceptive while some
simply see blood stains. This bleeding is quite
different from the normal monthly flow; some
ladies still see their period at the normal time or
a date later than normal. It messes up your
menstrual cycle
2. Drug interaction
There are some drugs you can't use together,
the reason why you can't use them together is
because concomitant use of them can make one
increase the effect of the other thereby leading
to acute or chronic toxicity or one will reduce
the effectiveness of the other therefore making
the desired effect not to be achieved
The former can lead to damage of some vital
organs (if not death) if it wasn't noticed on time
and the latter can lead to you getting pregnant
because the drug didn't do what it's meant to do
in the first place
So patients on medications for asthma, epilepsy,
renal impairment, diabetes mellitus, heart failure,
depression, hypertension, thromboembolic
diseases etc have been reported are at risk of
experiencing this drug interactions
3. Weight gain
Excessive consumption of postinor-2 can lead to
massive increase in weight. While some will see
the weight gain all over their body, the rest will
experience deposition of fats around their
stomach area
This is the one of reasons why some girls that
you knew where 'Atinga no blood cum Ogwu azu'

they become sexual active.
4. High risk of infertility
Women often use Postinor-2 wrongly; using more
than a tablet at once, combining the pills with
other drugs, and consuming more than twelve
pills in a month. Prolonged use of this emergency
contraceptive could cause a woman’s monthly
period to seize indefinitely or become irregular.
The chance of becoming pregnant with an
irregular or non-flowing period is slim or close to
zero. It also could cause a shift in the ovulation
cycle, destroy the womb and cause infertility at
the long run.
Please know that taking this drug once in a while
(as its meant to be used) limits your chances of
suffering any of these disadvantages,
Always ask yourself this question "man weh me

So next time he starts with "baby I am an
Eshiogiemeh in withdrawal method" reply him
with "Boo you no go remember that one when
