I'm not trying to be insensitive but this guy was admitted since august 20,probably in ICU.He was getting oxygen and all that. how in God's name will the health supplies be replaced when LUTH wasn't paid? how will the next set of folks that need urgent attention be attended to when someone used it all without paying a dime? who will pay the bills, the doctor or nurses that have their families too? should they die of hunger too? Nigerians are the most unreasonable people on earth. you just robbed the hospital of 800k. I hope the head of those poor health workers whose salaries will be deducted let the dead rest in peace.if they enforce pay before service these same set of people will scream blue murder.
Forget that trash; therr are corrupt officials in LUTH.

You are crazy for saying this, did the so called doctors or nurses heal the poor guy? Now u want the family to thank them with 800# for killing their son. Mtchewwww reason like a human not like aboki Fulani idiotic killers and bihari.
What of the drugs and materials used for him, and other services. If it happened in a private hospital , the cost would have been x 3 of that. Next time reason with ur brain not with that external device borrowing you some left over brain

You don't seem to get it. Even in USA, people still go there ,spend millions and eventually still die. 20 days in a standard ICU will cost 2 million plus. So 800k is subsidized price because it is government and a student.Expensive Resources are used for anyone in ICU but even if the person dies it still doesn't change the fact that much money was spent on him to give him every available chance. Hospitals maintain the ICU with the money paid so that another person can benefit . Do you know ICU has 24 hours uninterrupted light and in Nigeria diesel is used mostly to ensure this?Let me tell you what may likely happen when next an unconscious student is brought to that hospital. If the management assesses that there will be difficulty in paying, they will just put that person in the ward . And that may be someone that ICU care would have saved. We need to call on our government to grant free standard health insurance to all Nigerians instead of having tribal fights here on nairaland. Nigeria can afford to grant free health to every citizen. Most of these developed countries have this and Nigeria is richer than some of them.
