THE CONCEPTS
Parliameter is a socio-political app that was developed to engineer robust societal change in the way governance is sort, delivered, perceived and accepted by the populace. It seeks to bridge the continued-widening gap between the elected representatives and the electorate at the federal level of government in Nigeria. Coined from the word ‘Parliament’ and ‘Meter’, the app can best be described as the ‘People’s Parliament’. Parliameter is an interactive as well as an assessment tool in the hands of the Nigerian masses, first of its kind in the sub-Saharan Africa. Its usage is totally free to all users.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

With Parliameter, we seek to:
· Foster inclusive governance by getting the electorate involved in shaping the policies that affect them.

· Arouse political consciousness in the mind of the people.

· Give the people voice to properly communicate their concerns and contributions to their representatives.

· Unite the people and their representative for constructive dialogue, bargain and policy harmony.

· Provide the people the opportunity to monitor and assess the performance of their representatives

· Keep the representatives in touch with the feeling among their constituency about their performances.

· Provide the elected representatives with the platform to communicate their actions and intentions to their constituency.

· Provide clarity and remove ambiguity in the governance process by creating trust and understanding between electorate and their representatives.

· Provide the electorate with the opportunity to work together with their representatives to provide checks and balances, and cut the excesses of the executive branch of government.

· Positively influence policies of the executive
