The recent happening in Abia and South East states should be condemned and the Nigerian Army should be blamed for the killings, turture and arson. We all know that Abia state and of course South East states have been the most peaceful state and region. Not too long the region was named the most peaceful place to be.When this verdict came out people were happy while some were not.Dr Okezie Ikpeazu attending a function in Abuja attested to the peaceful nature of Abians and Nnamdi Kanu the way and manner he goes about his agitation without bloodshed and violence.surprisingly, the South East region has three(3) political parties ruling the states in the region.The Governors and their supporters gather together to hold meetings and eat without any body been harassed or killed or houses set on fire, or local jazz being used to threaten peoples lives.RRochas Okoroacha was the Governor that had problem during his demolition of a famous market in Owerri where a little child was killed and the issue was in the front burner of public discourse, and peaceful discussed.
While peace was there in the state and region, the Nigerian Army came in with their show of force to disturb the serenity and peaceful coexistence in the state just for a sinister purposes reminiscent of the 1964,65 and leading to 1966 atrocities they r known for.As we speak there is massive killing by the Army in the state,torture and provocation.Everyone should ask the Army at what time was it said that there was violence in the state and region?At what time was it said that IPOB carried weapons or killed or attacked people?At what time did IPOB went violent?When has demand for self determination through referendum become an act of violence?Is referendum no more one of the tenets of democracy?
The military is threading the route of 1966 and expect everyone to keep quite.We say no to militarization of innocent civilians.
