The police confronted a 21-year-old LGBT student, Scout Schultz at the campus in Atlanta after they received a call about "a person with a knife and a gun" late on Saturday, police officials reveals.

The student disobey several police orders to drop the weapon she was carrying, following the footage.

Schultz's mother said the police shouldn't have used fatal force, as the video showed the student of Georgia Institute of Technology, shouting "Shoot me!" while she moved closer to the police making one of them to pull the trigger on her.

The student, who could not be identified as a male or female was not with a gun, according to investigators, claiming false the former report of the police. However, the computer engineering student gave up her ghost following the gunshot, the Georgia Bureau of investigation said.

The officer who shot down the student was not named, and no police officer was found dead or injured.

The mother of the student, Lynne further said that Scout who was active politically.

She also revealed that Schultz had many medical issues and it resulted to depression, led scout to attempt to commit suicide last two years.

"Why didn't they use some nonlethal force, like pepper spray or Tasers?" she was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

Schultz was the president of the Pride Alliance at Georgia Tech.

"We are all deeply saddened by what has occurred," the group said in a statement.

"They have been the driving force behind Pride Alliance for the past two years," the group said, using Schultz's preferred pronoun. "They pushed us to do more events and a larger variety events."
