The WBA and IBF heavyweight champion will defend his titles against the Bulgarian at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on October 28.

Unbeaten Joshua, 27, was set to face Wladimir Klitschko in a rematch of their Wembley Stadium classic from April but the Ukrainian opted to retire.

The London 2012 Olympic gold medallist will instead face Pulev, who is mandatory challenger for his IBF title.

Joshua said: ““October 28 can't come soon enough, I have been eager to get back in the ring since Wembley and now we are confirmed and ready.

“I'll be locked away focusing on fight number 20 for the next eight weeks.
“I am excited to experience the atmosphere in a sold out Principality Stadium and aim to give the fans a spectacular night.”

Pulev is now preparing for his second world title tilt after a fifth-round knockout defeat by Klitschko in 2014.
