FG urged to concession MM Airport to Lagos, SW states

The Federal Government has been urged to concede the Murtala Mohammed International Airport to Oodua Investments and the Lagos State Government. The Federal Government as announced plans to concession the Airport to private investors.
In a letter addressed to President Mohammadu Buhari a copy of which was made available to Irohinoodua, the South West Professional Forum, (SOWPROF) said conceding the Airport to the South West States will make the International Airport more efficient. According to SOWPROF, the MMM will in in a position to generate 200 percent revenue far above the current revenue that the MMM generates if given to Oodua Investment.
“We are calling on you to use your good offices to concede the MMM to the governments of the South West states to manage. The Oodua investment has a track record of more than half a decade. I have no doubt in my mind that they and the Government of Lagos State will manage the Airport better. It will bring glory back to Nigeria and improve the standing of Nigeria in the international community”, the letter signed by SOWPROF President, Mr Segun Ajibulu stated.
SOWPROF is a body of thousands of Yoruba professionals concerned with the Socio-economic upliftment of the South West are to the benefit of all Nigerians.
Ajibulu wrote “We urge you, Mr President to use your position to ensure the South West states are granted the concession to run the Airport. The Airport will be run efficiently by the Oodua Investment in collaboration with the Government of Lagos. This will improve efficiency at the Airport. It will also ensure that the Airport meets international standards.”.
According to him, President Buhari has demonstrated rare candor in handling the economic situation going by his prudent and modest lifestyle. “You came in at a very difficult moment in the history of Nigeria. The economy was in a shambles. The country was at a peril. You have tried your best to bring the country on a path of honour” SOWPROF said.
He argued in the letter that though the process may be slow, but that Nigerians at the end of the day will discover they are being led by the best President the country ever had since 1999.
