Environmental hazards are substance, state or event which has the potential of threatening the surrounding natural environment / or adversely affect people’s health, including pollution and natural disasters

The following are the common environmental hazards:

Carbon Monoxide

Carbon monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless gas that can build to become dangerous concentrations indoors when fuel-burning devices are not properly operated, vented or maintained.

Sources of CO in homes include furnaces, gas or kerosene space heaters, boilers, gas cooking stoves, water heaters, clothes dryers, fireplaces, power generators, camp stoves, charcoal grills, wood stoves, lawn mowers and motor vehicles.

Potential Health Effects: CO is dangerous and even deadly. It interferes with normal oxygen uptake for humans and other living organisms needing oxygen for their living.
