Eleven coffins, surrounded by candles and buckets full of long-stemmed flowers, lay in a row in the streets of Atzala on Wednesday night .Some of the coffins were blue, others white, all elaborately adorned and bearing names: Manuela. Aurelia. María de Jesùs. And Eli death, the infant whose baptismal celebration had brought the fated group together. A few blocks away, the crumbled husk of the Santiago the Apostle Catholic Church lay still. Just a day earlier, the victims had gathered with family and friends under the church's domed expanse. When the earthquake struck the ceiling fell in, crushing those below. The only survivors were the baby's father, the priest and the priest's assistant. Chunks of fallen masonry lie by an altar in Santiago the Apostle Catholic Church. So instead of a baptism, the residents of Atzala, a small agricultural town of about1,200 people, held a funeral. Puebla, the state where Atzala is located, was in the epicenter of Tuesday's devastating earthquake. Residents carry the casket of one of the victims. With crossed arms and solemn faces, family and friends congregated up and down the street where the coffins lay, their faces stricken and postures resigned. Community members, dressed in everyday clothing, served as pallbearers, carrying the coffins to the wake and finally, to the Graves. The quake left gaping holes in what's left of the church. Graciano Villanova told El Universal he lost six members of his family in the collapse, including his wife, daughter, and two granddaughters. Villanueva and his wife were godparents to Elideth, the infant who was supposed to be baptized that day. "I'm the only one left from my family," he said.

Question to the religious: If God is truly omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent or whatever, caring, loving and truly interested in the welfare of all his creations on earth, why would he cause/allow the death of an innocent child about to be dedicated to him and the deaths of hundreds of people who believe in him?

AND

If you were this man who unfortunately lost his whole family in the earthquake, would you give the answer you're about to type up right now?

The ways of God are not the ways of man. The thoughts of God are higher than the heavens and deeper than the earth.

That's a silly explanation for the emotional pain and suffering the man must be going through after losing his family. How should the fact that at God is "mysterious" explain why thousands of people have died in natural disasters in just this year alone.

it's a silly thing to question God also. Is he the only one that have suffered such fate, was it God that caused the natural disaster, was it the devil? So why blaming God. Why can't the ICJ summon God and charge him into their court, you ppl will just idly wake up and start saying trash since you are jobless.

1. I expressly mentioned that thousands of others have died in natural disasters and unfortunately many more will die in more natural disasters to come Christians or otherwise. If you find it comforting to ask, "is he the only one to have suffered such fate" something has to be wrong with you.

2. Who made the earth? Wasn't it Jesus/God/God's son who calmed a storm while on a boat with his disciples, what's so hard in ridding the earth of natural disasters if he cares so much about humans? If you live in a house as a tenant with a ceiling that collapses incessantly and electrical outlets that spark up in flames injuring tenants and destroying your furniture, who would you blame, who should bear liability for the damages, whose responsibility is it to repair the house AND how soon do you expect the house to be repaired?

And 3 If God subjects himself to criminal prosecution at the ICC (International Criminal Court in charge of prosecuting criminals as opposed to the ICJ which only entertains state parties) , I doubt he'd go scot free not with all the atrocious acts he commanded the Israelites to commit, wiping out entire nations and insisting that pregnant women and male children be killed because of a "land flowing with milk and honey". That's called genocide and that's a war crime. You can read the Rome Statute of 1998 if you're not too busy reading trash in that fable book of yours.
