I've been seeing this symbol on many house hold products in Nigerian market but do not really know what it represents.

Please if anyone knows they shouldn't hesitate to acquaint us/ me, because I don't understand Arabic.

If you've been seeing this, How many products can you recall seeing it on?

The world written below the Arabic is:
HALAL

Thanks for the classification...

On a second thought, why is it written only in Arabic?

Is Arabic Nigeria's official language?

Besides, if it means not consumable, why is it also found on items like Noodles, Seasonings , Macaroni etc?

Are these not consumables?

It is for muslims......according to their belief, some things are not fit for consumption. That symbols shows that all the ingredients of that product are fit for consumption according to Islamic beliefs......it's not a Nigerian thing, it's a global thing, that's why it's written in Arabic, as Arabic is like the official language for Muslims.

Do you mean Muslims don't eat Noodles, Spaghetti, Macaroni, Maggi Seasoning, Royco? And they don't also board a Keke?

in Islam, there are something's we are not allowed to consume, and official language for Islam is Arabic, that's why it's written in Arabic to enhance interest of Muslims and to be rest assured that the product is permissible in Islam

thank you, in this case don't look at it as if am judgmental, most Christians eat pork, which we Muslim were forbid to do so,since we are not allowed to consume such,we are restricted to certain things which Christians are not,so that gives assurance and evidence being the fact that it was also written in Arabic which is Muslim official language that the product is not made of pork or anything we are restricted to consume.
