Yes, Nigeria is expanding and new cultures are evolving. One of such is the patronage of after-school homes for kids. This isn’t really new because at one time or the other a lot of us have been asked to stay over at someone’s place till our parent or guardian comes around.

With the increase in the numbers of career parent in Africa, after-school home will not be a bad idea. So if you must start one or choose one for your kids, these are among the basic things to look out for.

1. Games: Have you thought of mind-building indoor games that can help the kids. if you are a parent, you should check and if you are starting a home you should plan to have them. Chess is popularly acceptable, scrabble isn’t a bad idea and monopoly can be a good option too.

2. Art and craft: After-School homes should be an opportunity for the kids to learn new things like music, molding, cleaning and all sorts of human craft. Furthermore, reading clubs for history and literature maybe a good idea.

3. Beddings: Much younger ones may need to take their nap and a home like this must offer that.

4. School pickups: It will be a good experience if you have an arrangement with the parents and the school to pick up the kids after school. Busy parent will so much love this but don’t foregt to used a comfortable bus or car.

Experiences may vary in different after-school homes but never be ignorant of the basic things since you are paying for it.
