SummerSlam is over and WWE’s back to splitting up their PPVs.
Up next isWWE No Mercy 2017, which is now a Raw show despite last year’s installment being for smackDown. Such is life. No Mercy originally began as a UK
PPV for WWF, but they brought it back months later in the US. While it lacked any sort of gimmick, the PPV became a mainstay for the company up until 2008 when they had their last installment for eight years. Then it was brought back after Raw and SmackDown split into two separate rosters.
WHEN IS WWE NO MERCY 2017? The show will take place on Sunday September 24, 2017 at 8pm ET with the Kickoff show at 7pm. It will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

WWE NO MERCY 2017 MATCHES

BROCK LESNAR (C) VS. BRAUN STROWMANWWE Universal Championship
The seeds of this showdown were planted on theRawafterWrestleMania(though one could argue as far back asRoyal Rumble 2016) when Braun Strowman showed up during a Brock Lesnar in-ring segment to point out that once hewas done with destroying Roman Reigns, Brock and his title were next. Then Braun spent the next few months stomping on Roman over and over again and we can presume that he’s finished with him for the moment.

AtSummerSlam, Brock defended his championship in a Fatal 4-Way with Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, and Samoa Joe. In theend, Brock was able to defeat Roman with an F5and retain, but this was after being brought backstage for medical attention due to Braun outright murdering the man by powerslamming him through two tables and then dumping another table onto him.
The following night onRaw, as Paul Heyman and Brock celebrated the win, Braun stepped out, laid Brock out, and made it apparent that hewanted a one-on-one shot against the Beast Incarnate.
Weeks later, although Braun had a match set upagainst Cena, he still accepted the challenge when Brock called him out. Braun shrugged off a German suplex and then wrecked Brock once more.

EMMA VS. BAYLEY VS. ALEXA BLISS (C) VS. SASHA BANKS VS. NIA JAX
Fatal 5-Way for the WWE Raw Women's Championship
Sasha Banks defeated Alexa atSummerSlamto win the Women's Championship. Unfortunately, once they had the return match onRaw, Alexa got the win, meaning that despite multiple reigns, Sasha has yet to successfully defend her belt. After the match, Nia Jax came out to beat down Sasha a little, celebrate with Alexa, then crush Alexa to illustrate her intention of being the next champ.

Problem was, Sasha still had her own contracted return match. Nia and Emma (high on her own delusions) argued that they should be #1 contenders. Kurt Angle put Nia and Emma against Alexa and Sasha in a tag match where if Nia and Emma won, they would be added to theNo Mercybout. Although Nia was behind the win, Emma stole the pin and took thecredit. Nia rewarded her with an ass-whoopin.

After Nia defeated Alexa in a non-title match, Sasha fought her and didn't do all that well. Luckily, Bayley made her return and helped turn the tide. Since Bayley had to forfeit an earlier title shot due to injury a few months ago, she has been added to the No Mercymatch.

DEAN AMBROSE AND SETH ROLLINS (C) VS. CESARO AND SHEAMUSWWE
Raw Tag Team Championship.

After learning to be buddies again, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were immediately tossed into a title match against Cesaro and Sheamus. Lo and behold, they succeeded! Now they're gearing up for the return match, albeit with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson getting involved. In a non-title triple threat, Cesaro and Sheamus were able to steal a win over Gallows and Anderson. Sure, they didn't get one over on the champs specifically, but they still have momentum going into the PPV.

NEVILLE (C) VS. ENZO AMORE
WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Neville defeated Akira Tozawa and regained his championship. Elsewhere in the WWE Universe, Enzo Amore's feud with Big Cass died a sudden death when Cass blew out his knee during a match. Enzo then joined the cruiserweight division, where205 Livestarted to revolve around him. He won a Fatal 5-Way against GranMetalik, Cedric Alexander, Tony Nese, and The Brian Kendrick.

Neville has had a hard time taking Enzo seriously, especially after watching Miz and his cronies put the boots to him and then seeing Braun crush the little guy for seemingly no reason. Enzo has the latest laugh by kicking Neville in the crotch during a promo.

JOHN CENA VS. ROMAN REIGNS.

Would've expected this for one of the Big Four PPVs, but here we are, I guess.
Being a "free agent," John Cena is able to go to whichever show he chooses. He chose to hitRawbecause he wanted to face Roman Reigns. Not just for the challenge of it all, but because he thinks that Roman is a lacking attempt to replace Cena. If Roman Reigns is John Cena 2.0, then it's a downgrade.
While the two have verbally sparred, they've alsobeen pushed into tag matches together against the likes of Miz/Samoa Joe and the Club. They also each took part in matches against Jason Jordan, followed after by more promo confrontations.

FINN BALOR VS. BRAY WYATT

Wyatt's been bugging Balor for months on end and they had a match on the go-home Raw beforeSummerSlam. Wyatt won and humiliatedBalor. Balor returned the favor by powering up into his Demon King form and made short work of Wyatt. Rather than move on with his supernatural life, Wyatt continued to mess with Balor and went all, "Well, yeah, you can defeat me in your strongest form, but what if you tried not doing that?"

Essentially, Wyatt is asking to lose to a regular-ass Finn Balor.
