I am going to take out time to explain some few things
hidden to many of you out there in line with the
ongoing caps related issues (most importantly,
accepting or not). Read carefully and avoid being a
victim for another one year. The system called CAPS is one beautifully designed to regulate some
abnormalities in various higher institutions. It will not
only help the masses but also ensure that ADMISSION
is equal and fair (once you've made the required
marks). Let me attend to the accept or decline option.
One major reason why this option was created was to allow Students decide their fate. And in a way, open
door to some other offers if they decide to decline. For
instance, if you chose Medicine and your school
offered you Agriculture, you can choose to accept or
decline. This takes you out of your school options for
Admission and place you in the Market where 3 other Institutions can request for you based on your score.
Now this is what you were not told. Most Universities
in Nigeria will not be visiting the Market place because
they have enough to admit already. Schools visiting
the Market place will be majorly private institutions et
al. Do not sit and act without consultation. To the other issue of acceptance, you can't accept without the
Admitted option. Many of you are clicking on accept
when you can see Not Admitted on your portal. It
makes no difference. The normal stage will bring to
you *Admitted*, *Accept*, *Decline* and the course
given. There are 3 stages of admitting a student. An admission officer looks into the score of the student
and propose him to the VC/Provost/Rector. The VC/
Registrar/Rector will then recommend based on the
proposal from the Admission Officer to Jamb for
ratification. The desk officer from Jamb will now
approve such student for Admission fully. I won't be able to give more than this. If you require more
clarification, beep me politely. If I don't reply
immediately, then I am busy. I will later. Be patient.
NB: Admission lists of some institutions will be out
soon. Anticipate.
