NIGERIA VS ZAMBIA :WHAT IS AT STAKE
Football matches is a game played within 90
minutes or at most 95minutes (stoppage
time) except there is a condition where there
must be a winner, then,a match will be
played within 120 minutes (regular time
+extra time).
Football is a game that enhances/makes
friendship but sometimes, football is much
more than just a friendly match; sometimes
players played with all seriousness and
determination to win;they push
opponents,made a career-threatening
tackles, argue with referee(s),trade words
with opponents etc. Once these actions were
seen in matches, the first question that
should come to mind is – WHAT IS AT
STAKE?
As a football follower for some years now, I
have come to realise that players put in
much efforts and determination in a
competitive matches compared to ‘just’ a
friendly matches. It is simple; The more
competitive a match is,the more
determination you see from players.
Another situation that is capable of bringing
these aforementioned traits into matches in
when playing against a bitter rival.Example is
when Barcelona comes up against Real
Madrid, thus fixture always produce red card
(s),yellow card(s),hard tackles and even
sending off of coach(es) to the stands. You
hardly see an el-classico without a red card
This scenario is always happening
throughout the world and not just in club
football.In Africa,as the international break
comes up where players will be playing for
their fatherland, there is one match that
caught our attention which we will like to
analyse and talk about – SUPER EAGLES OF
NIGERIA VS CHIPOLOPOLO OF ZAMBIA.
Zambia serves as the only hurdle that the
super eagles need to Cross before they
qualify for the Russia 2018 world cup,Nigeria
sits at the top of the group with 10 points
after winning 3 matches and drawing
1match.
Zambia on the other hand, has 7 points from
from four(4)matches;beat Algeria both home
and away, drew against Cameroon and loss
against Nigeria. The only thing Nigeria need
from this match is an outright win while
Zambia also needs a win to stand a chance
of appearing at the worldcup for the first time
in its history
Everything is at stake in this match but let
take a look at the most important ones.
WORLD CUP
As said earlier, Zambia needs to defeat
Nigeria, so they will go all out to achieve
this. As for the super eagles, they need to
impress the home crowd by defeating the
chipolopolo of Zambia.
It can easily be said that anyone that carries
the day has a leg in Russia 2018world cup.
REPUTATION
Super Eagles will never want to destroy its
reputation which it has built for some years
(especially under Genort Rohr and 1994 and
1996 set) by letting Zambia beat them,so
they will put everything into place to
maintain the unbeaten reputation which they
have in world cup qualifying matches.
On Zambia’s part,the resurgent,youthful
Zambia team whom surprisingly defeated the
‘Almighty’ Algeria both home and away, will
definitely love to maintain its momentum by
defeating the so called ‘giant of Africa’ –
Nigeria
PROVING A POINT
immediately the coach announced his squad
list, the surprise omission was Tyronne
Ebuehi and Dele Alampasu, instead Ola Aina
and dele ajiboye were called up,these newly
invited players Will want to proof to the
coach that there is no reason to be afraid,
they will also want to put up a fine showing
so as to cement a place in the team’s
starting lineup. Zambia will also want to
market themselves to scout Whom at the
end may show interest in them.
Finally, as this match draws nearer, all is at
stake;physically, psychologically, and also
emotionally. We all need to be prepared to
see a match filled with rough tackles,
fight, penalties and above all tears and
happiness at the end if the match

do i care? i don't. i don't know why guys like football. must you like football? they will be personalising the club like they are the owner of the clubcheesy. e.g you can not beat me, i will beat you messilessly. that's a barcelona fan bragging to chelsea fan. who football epp? aside the wager, it's not helping, if you look at it holistically. they are just giving you your money back. you have lost more than you won.
