Anambra state Primary school teacher, Mr. Okodo Clement Nwoye has won Nigeria's Overall Best Teacher of the Year 2017.
Mr Okodo Nwoye, of Central School Abagana, in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state won the award organized by the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja.
Announcing his selection, the Director, Education Support Services in the Ministry, Mrs J. N Ibeh writing on behalf of the Minister of Education Adamu Adamu said that the award presentation ceremony will hold on Thursday, 5th of October 2017 at Eagle Square, Abuja during the World Teachers' Day celebration.
Nwoye's victory falls in line with the footsteps of the state born Roseline Nkemdilim Obi, a teacher at Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha who won the maiden edition of Maltina Teacher of the Year Award in 2015.
Speaking to ABS, the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha said she is proud of Mr Nwoye and all the other hardworking teachers and staff in the State's Education System.
Commissioner Omenugha explained that the national recognition of one of their teachers, is a clear manifestation of the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in the Education Sector aimed at sustaining excellence and high standards in the state.

Anambra is a state to beckon with.....
