What Every Student Must Do To Avoid Unemployment by Citadeloc(m): 11:56am On Oct 04, 2017
To start with, being a student is not cheap. You have to buy text books, handouts, make photocopies, pay for; transportation, accommodation, feeding, as well as a whole lot of other expenses.
Also, considering the fact that most parents are within middle and low income bracket, it is doubtful that students would be able to get everything they would need to survive in school from home. But despite all these struggles to go through school, many of these students will still end up in the unemployment market after graduation.
Many of these unemployed graduates, finally end up engaging themselves in all manner of unimaginable activities, just to make ends meet. But instead of engaging in practices that may jeopardize their lives, I believe it would be better for these unemployed graduates to look for any business they can do with the skills they acquired while in school.
But the problem with this solution is that most of them do not possess the necessary skills to handle businesses as entrepreneurs. This is because they failed to plan for their future while in school.
Students therefore, ought to start planning and training themselves from their future. It's not every thing you need to excell in life, that the school will teach you. School will only help you to learn what you want to learn. So you can't learn how to excell in life-after-school, until you are personally ready to learn.
So you need to plan, develop and acquire all you need to overcome the menace of unemployment, if you want a bright future, and all these you can easily get by learning how to be an entrepreneur while in school.

The easiest way to overcome unemployment after graduation is to learn how to be an entrepreneur while in school: the easiest way to learn how to be an entrepreneur is to start handling a business while still in school.
Students will certainly gain more knowledge, experience and skill while running businesses in school. But when the issue of running a side business in school is raised, there are three excuses students usually give
• I don’t have time
• I don’t have money
• What’s the point? I don’t lack anything

If of these are also your own excuses, then here is my answer:
Time: you only need few hours every day to execute side businesses. You can work on weekends; time you spend on trivial stuff can be invested into creating a beautiful and profitable future.
Money: you don’t need a lot of money to start any of the lucrative small business ideas. While some require small capital, some do not need any money at all.
Why? What’s the point?
You prepare yourself for life after school. The only way to ensure you don’t go through the painful process of job search is to start your own business, and the school is a perfect place to prepare yourself.
You can set up contacts, client base and networks that you can draw from when you need them.
You gain vital experience: this is usually the time to harness your skills and gather experience that takes you further after school.
With each success, you increase in confidence, and with each failure you increase in learning.
Side businesses every student can engage in while in school
Hair stylist
Catering services
Baking/pastries making
Make-up artist
Buying and selling of electronic devices
Doing assignments for lazy students
Organizing tutorials
Lance writing
Online registrations
Blogging
Webbing
Soap production
Insecticides and disinfectants production
Manufacturing other chemical products

How to Successfully Handle a Business And Still Excell In Your Academics
Before you venture into any business, you have to plan very well not to fail.
Firstly, choose the business wisely. Don’t venture into business with too much competition, consider your available capital, consider your academics and time requirements of the business etc.
Secondly, you will need a good promotion for your business to thrive. It doesn’t have to cost you much. You can use cheap posters and fliers, word of mouth through friends, internet (social media). You can also go straight to people who might need the service you offer and present a proposal to them.
Thirdly, without good money management skill, you can make as much money you want and still lose it faster than you can imagine. In as much as you need to pamper your clients to get them patronizing your products, you need to be smart with your money, otherwise they will owe you till you no longer make enough returns to run your business.
Fourthly, you have to be focused, humble, patient, jovial, and courteous to everybody. That way, you will make your clients fall helplessly in love with your services and always come back for more while bringing along new clients. Don’t be distracted by those students who seem to have it all. Don’t ever feel inferior. Work on your self esteem, set your targets and keep your eyes on the price.
Finally, don’t lose focus on your studies, which is the reason why you are in school, and most importantly don’t do anything without God, for He is the reason why you live and can make plans.
