Plenary started at about 12:04pm with prayers from the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Prince) M.O. Kolawole.

The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Hassan Abdullah of Dekina - Okura moved for adoption of votes and proceedings of last sitting and seconded by Hon. Alfa Momoh Rabiu of Ankpa II State Constituency.

Motion Appealing to the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari to Establish Federal Secretariat Complex in Kogi State.

Prayers:

1. That, a strongly worded resolution of the House be conveyed to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari appealing to him to establish Federal Secretariat Complex in Kogi State.

2. That, this resolution be forwarded to the Hon. Minister representing Kogi State at Federal Executive Council, drawing his attention to this development and urging him to use his good office to in facilitating the establishment of the Federal Secretariat Complex in the State Capital.

3. That the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello be informed of this resolution while urging him to present the matter to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Chief Whip, Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye of Ijumu State Constituency seconded the important motion making reference to a paragraph of the motion saying it would enhance employment opportunities for our citizenry and boost the Local Economy.

He added that the neighboring Kwara State has Federal Secretariat and that the motion is long overdue because so many States created with Kogi State already have State Secretariats.

Hon. Obaro A.S. Pedro of Mopamuro State Constituency supported the motion saying the motion has revealed some things to him, emphasizing that Kogi Youths will gain employment and Kogi State is always short changed when it comes to empowerment from the Federal Government.

He further said, it has become difficult for Kogi Youths to have access to Federal Government Empowerment programmes due to lack of Federal Secretariat.

He seeked that prayer number two be amended that Kogi Federal Legislators should join hands with Kogi Federal Minister to bring this to fruition.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Prince) M.O. Kolawole ruled on the motion noting it's importance and straightforwardness as the ayes have it.
