cry In the next few years we'll only have Abuad, Convenant and others. The rate at which these two universities are advancing is highly commendable. The only way the government universities can catch up is if the govt takes one university each from the North, south south , south west and south east and Fund them, cut them off from ASUU...and maybe increase the fees to set a standard

Quality education is not cheap ....

Bolustical:
Some people will sit there shouting glorified secondary school,

Check KPMG, Deloitte, MTN and other blue chip companies in Nigeria and see how Covenant University and other private universities graduates are making serious waves.

Gone are the days when vacancies are based on the universities you attend.

What is your point? Is Covenant not one of the top rate universities?

Nice one. The beauty of private establishments is maintenance. It will definitely be better maintained than public teaching hospitals but I feel the major challenge will be lack of patients.

Personnel and personnel renumeration , is that feasible.
Knowing fully well that if they can pay up to or close to Fg civil service renumeration, staff turnover will be too high and that will not be good

I am really excited my guy. This is a university that started in 2010 and already is moving so fast like d speed of light. It seems the private universities that were created between 2010/2011 are really making Impressive moves. I was surprised to see Landmark university which was established in 2011 now producing her own electricity using Jatropha caucus converted to diesel and is set to start selling diesel to the outside community. And this is being manned by their departments of Engineering.

I can't also wait for living faith fourth university in Calabar which would focus on Ship building, Naval Architecture and Everything Marine studies. The next few years is going to be an interesting time to see how some private universities would up stage the Federal ones.
Chaiiiii!!! I'm really impressed, Nigeria must grow.

The ABUAD hospital was built using Chelsea Hospital London as a template. The Chelsea hospital London is also a 430 bed teaching hospital that serves Imperial college London. It is also rated one of the best hospitals in the UK because of its low mortality rate. It has a running cost of over £300 million per annum.

Backward, check when Chelsea hospital was built, you might be surprised its over 100 years Old!, who copies outdated structures?
Well, the crucial thing isn't the physical structure but the relevance of the Hospital itself.

Depends on the location and it's only a matter of time.

There are ways in which patients would get the health care at affordable rates even in a private Hospital. Many routes to make money.

Hope it keeps going up

First, I don't know anybody that regards Covenant as glorified secondary school.

Secondly, the uni you attend has bearing on your ability to secure a job. Attending covenant boosts a job seeker's chances.

Yea i thought of that too.. But then, Within the country: Hospitals(A) do refer patients to another hospital(B) provided the hospital B has the facility hospital A lacks.. provided the procedure and facility is available there, patients will be referred.. Also.. People going for medical tourism if cases can be handled within the country will be diverted towards the hospital. With the helipad built; i think they really aim at bridging some gaps and providing more to some cases that only few hospitals within the country can handle..

I wouldn't want us to delve into such discussion on here. The most important thing is that, this man is utilizing the funds to proper funding of the university to the development of our dilapidated educational sector.

I was at their microbiology Lab 2 years ago for some analysis. Couldn't contain how marveled I was seeing some strange facilities. Abuad I would say could compete head to head with any university in Africa. Got friends schooling abroad and some of them could attest to the fact that Nigerian private universities are gradually getting there.

An Ex Eksuite
I made use of their chemistry lab too 3years ago for almost 3months..An Ex eksuite too
