The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH),
Igbesa, has turned out 7000 graduates. Scores of the
graduands made distinction. The graduands, who
bagged National Diploma and Higher National
Diploma in various disciplines would also go home
with the CISCO certificate in Computer Appreciation.
The Rector, Dr. Olufunke Akinkurolere, made this
known to The Nation at the institution ahead of the
combined maiden convocation cum 11th anniversary
slated for Saturday. Akinkurolere said despite
challenges, OGITECH’s products have been
sufficiently groomed both in learning and character
not only to be competitive in the labour market but
also jobs creators and future employers of labour.
She added that the institution’s 25 programmes are
all fully accredited by the National Board of Technical
Education(NBTE) while the maiden convocation
ceremony would also feature health walk, medical
check – up and lectures.
The rector identified full accreditation of all
programmes, sustained uninterrupted academic
calendar, computerisation of the institute, the new
Mass communication department building and
sustained regular payment of salary of staff among
others, as significant achievements recorded in the
last couple of years.
She also lauded Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his
administration for the steady support that enables the
institute to meet her core mandate of producing
competitive graduates in “learning and character.”
