GrandFinale2017: Simple, People who get to power by crooked means through nepotism, quota system, etc will always goof. The greatest goof yet in the history of Nigeria is the removal of History from the curriculum for whatever reason be it self serving political etc. Let heads be visible seen to roll for this unwholesome shenanigan. This country has been misruled, mislead, misdirected and mismanaged by unpatriotic element and parasites(like Atiku, Saraki, Omishore, Kashamu, Fayoshe, Donald duke, Okorocha, kwakwanso etc) and yet some more parasites are waiting on the wings for cheap appointment into power by naïve nonchalant Nigerians who did not do their home work on potential leaders that lack credibility in all ramifications, and how to vote these out of power. |

It is because of lack of history being thought, that is why any rascal can come out and sell lies to a people on our common history as a nation. Operation python would not have been necessary if people had an informed view of what happened in the 60s. Go to Ruwanda, there is museum for the gernocide that took place there in the 90s. The essence of sharing your dark past, is to teach the coming generation the importance of tolerance as well as for them to picture the unexpected consequences of being hateful towards one another. Thank God the government just realized this lacuna and sort to correct it. |

I don't see anything to be proud of in our history that we now have to make it compulsory. They forget that some of these history teachers may want to take sides because of their current biased understanding. I can imagine what an Igbo history teacher will teach his students, or the northern or Western teachers. What about the Asaba history? It's well o |

That's a good move. But, to make it worthwhile they must remove any European accounts as history. Example; like someone said, the notion Mungo Park discovered the river Niger must be pulled off the history books, cause that's a lie. In fact, the entire curriculum should be Africa centered perspective of history only, and if they need help I can assist as I've been collaborating with someone in US who created an independent curriculum to study African history. |

A country that doesn't know where it's coming from will definitely not know where it's heading talk of strategising on how to get there. History and local language should be taken serious. I don't know of any developed country that takes foreign language more important than its own language. Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo language in conjunction with Mathematics and English should be passed before getting admission also. 1 Like |
