How can a large number of people be so ignorant and myopic. Everyone has had their tentacles on the military recently and they know it. They would now go out in broad daylight and be infecting kids with monkey virus. I mean where's the sense in that

But the Military is not a trust-worthy institution. Killing civilians and lying about it is their default setting. The one who kill with guns will have no gumption about doing it in a more subtle way.

South-East should stay away from the Military's greek's gifts. The intention is not clear.

Who would want to trust their lives with a confirm liar?

Is the medical outreach necessary at this time? How can you offer free medical services to people after invading their communities and you expect them to trust you? Did the army conduct enough public enlightenment program? You don't just walk into my child's school and say you are offering free medical services. I tell you say he sick?

I have never seen a clueless govt like this APC. Who do they want to impress?

Despite using ur "private well" to acquire a smart phone, your IQ didn't allow u to Google that it was a PDP stalwart by name Lawal Kaita who made the threat against GEJ that the North would make Nigeria ungovernable for him cos he-Gej violated their agreement of serving one time as president. It was the evil genius; Reuben Abati that roped in PMB as the origin of the threat. Buhari sued Abati for 1 billion naira damages for libel. Abati, realising his folly, retracted and GeJ had to wade in pleading with Buhari to settle out of court. But the evil already had been done, and painfully u still peddling same rumour amid hatred for an innocent man.

Before such exercises are carried out, there's always proper sensitization even weeks to commencement, the army and whoever organized this thing didn't get this right. Bear in mind that there has been rumors flying about that the NA is responsible for the recent outbreak of monkeypox, these rumors haven't been properly dispelled by govt authorities hence most people are still ignorant. Nice move by the state governor any way cool

To ant sensible observer ( which you are obviously not), this incidence, once again demonstrates the level distrust the people have for the federal government, especially the federal army.

This kind of incident , in any normal place, would jolt and embarrass the leaders as well as question the mandate upon which they wield their powers.

But of course, when obtuse minds like yours chose the cheapest and the least intellectually challenging option of mockery, then you thereby validating the Zoo mentality that is Nigeria's biggest problem.

Now 'normal' would have been the school, through the authorities, rejecting the medical care offered by the military but again your 'normal' is advocating wild spread ignorance on the guise of showing "distrust" in governance and government?

Look at what is coming from these supposed government official, when has it become a sole responsibility of the army to administer vaccines to the general public,is there any out break of diseases in south east,is it the duty of the army to carry such programm in region where there is no war, what is the duty of the state health workers.from my own observation there's something fishy .

As much illiteracy is a one reason for the needless apprehension, we must also agree that there's also a general, justified distrust of the Nigerian government and its military by the Igbos. Nothing, but inclusiveness, can shatter this distrust.

Must the drug work if given by the army? Can't they liaise with state ministry of health?

PRESS STATEMENT: ARMY MEDICAL OUTREACH
11.10.17

The attention of the State Government has been drawn to an on going medical outreach being undertaken by the Army in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

The State has been made to understand that the exercise is part of Army social responsibility to members of the public.

However, strong apprehension among the populace has followed the exercise leading to withdrawal of students from schools by parents, misconception of the actual motive behind the exercise by stakeholders, community leaders and a general reservation by the public for whom the outreach is intended.

To this end and to ensure no further escalation of the situation, His Excellency the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has contacted the Army Authories and advised for immediate stoppage of the medical outreach until wide sensitization is conducted to reassure people of its intentions and benefits. The exercise has therefore been put on hold.

Parents and guardians are strongly advised to stop withdrawing their wards from schools as the situation has been handled. All schools within the State will remain open as there is no cause for alarm! Community leaders, Presidents General and all Stakeholders are hereby reassured of the commitment of the Governor and the State Government to the wellbeing of Ndi Anambra.

The State Government also strongly condemns observed rhetorics on social media completely misrepresenting the situation with insinuations of spread of diseases and death of students in schools arising from the exercise. The State categorically refutes these rhetorics and confirms that there is no death of any student anywhere in the State. Mischief makers are warned to desist from spreading falsehood. Anambra remains calm and peaceful!

Thank you!

Prof Solo Chukwulobelu
Secretary to the State Government.

Must the vaccination come with operation python dance? We have lost confidence with Buhari government. Even our governors cannot be trusted. So he can order solders to stop the vaccination but cannot order them to stop the killing of innocent citizens. The governors pronouncement means nothing to an average Anambra man who sees all the southeastern governors as puppets. This is the beggining of the end of all those self serving politicians in the east.

But You Read Until Wide Sensitization Is Carried Out. The Question Are 1. Was There Any Information On Military Medicare Both In Press And Electronic Media? 2. The What Type Of Treatment/immunization Are They Offering? 3. Who Tested And Confirmed The Substances They Intended To Administer To The Children? 4. Is It Not Best For Army To First Build Peoples' Confidence Before Enbarking On Such Medicare?

You think it is ignorant for a people , especially a people deliberately marginalized since 1970, a people presently under military occupation in a democratic Government, to view the government and government agents as enemies ?

Who is the real ignorant person here ? undecided

Will you keep kwait. Unverified rumor indeed, why didn't you ask them to take the medicine to your state. Why should the army be parading themselves as medical practitioner. Why won't they hand the medicine over to the hospitals? Why would they be the one administering the medicine when they still have BK issue to handle? A corper indeed.

You overestimate the intelligence of our military.

Was it not same people who butchered Shia members in broad daylight? And were foolish enough to be caught on camera on several occasions while trying to suppress IPOB through brutality and murder?

No bro, these folks are senseless enough to inject kids in broad day light; they shoot first and deny later. To vouch for them would be a mistake.
