Zambian fans have accused the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) of bribery over their inability to appeal a disallowed goal against Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier.

Augustine Mulenga’s goal was ruled offside in the game that the Super Eagles won on Saturday, to end Zambia’s hopes of making it to the Russia 2018 World Cup.

The Football Association of Zambia had released a press statement saying they would not appeal the referee’s decision.

However, this decision did not go well with Zambians who took to the FAZ official Facebook accusing them of bribery, fear and irresponsibility.

One Raph Nkhata wrote: “Foolishness!! U sold the Game Kamanga and right now u r still receiving money fro Nigeria officials who gave u money! Coz they are seeing the pressure we r giving u! If they Gave Iwobi $10,000, nishi I we banakupasa zingati and referees Muzinkhalako na nsoni bamambala.”

For Emmanuel Phiri , the FAZ president has failed the nation and has not done anything other than amass wealth for himself since taking over.

“You are a big disappointment ba faz. Kamanga we celebrated after you won the elections. Little did we know that you will fail us. In times of this we miss our great kalu. You are the most useless faz president ever,” Phiri wrote. “You think been on that position is moving around and drinking coffee in the office. Now I understand that a business man can never run sports affairs. You are there to make money not of service. Believe me as bitter as we are now you are adding salt to our injury, we will remove you from that office just exactly the way we did to major Richard Kachingwe. You are now playing with our emotions just wait you corrupt man. Don’t forget what has just happened to Alex.”

Similarly, Bwalya Lisa wrote: “Ba Kamanga it is like something was given to you by the Nigerians after the back to back wins over Algeria. First, you promised to camp the team in Spain but suddenly after a long period of silence, the the found itself camping for THREE days in Ghana instead. No explanation. Then despite all that, our team wins in Nigeria ( to us our boys won) and you cannot defend the victory. Instead you are defending Nigeria. Well, we shall meet at the elective AGM.”

Corroborating other fans, Eugine Chibwe , stated” Big man admit you received a brown envelope from the Nigerian FA.No external whatever is required here the fact is the referee was at fault. The only clear evidence Senegal had was the video footage, the rest was investigated by FIFA.”
