Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has urged all key stakeholders to reach a compromise, on how the future of the country should look like.

El-Rufai stated this on Wednesday in Abuja, while welcoming the participants to the civil society organization and youths’ public hearing, organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee on True Federalism.

The Governor said since all the stakeholders had agreed that something was wrong with Nigeria’s political structure, an honest conversation was needed to lay a solid foundation for the younger generation.

“Let’s use this opportunity to air out our views, to disagree definitely and openly, but finally come to some compromise on what our country should look like in the future for it to work for everyone. This is why we are here; we are messengers. We collect and collate your views and hand them over to the party and the government for action.

“This is the first time in the history of Nigeria, and I’m slightly older than Nigeria itself, that there is an honest conversation about the structure of our federation. And this is the only time that we provide an equal opportunity platform for every Nigerian to contribute his views about what the future Nigeria should look like,” he said.

If you believe restructuring is the only avenue to a better Nigeria then you need to believe that Nigeria has no problem atall. The problem of Nigeria is the constitution,a constitution that was purposely made to favour the elite,a constitution that has no regards to the happiness of a common man. Believe me,the unity of this country has expired and to regain such unity a new constitution need to be establish via a conference that will allow the participants to determine if existing as one nation is still part of their dream. We cannot live together when you regard me as a low-class citizen,if you want togetherness then respect and regard me as a part of you.

The future of Nigeria, should be made to remove every act of parasitism. Let them Northern directors in Niger Delta oil go up north and become directors in cattle ranching business.

Let the army be removed from eastern roads where they continue to intimidate and harass civilians daily.

Let the sharing of oil money stop so that those who own the resources can use them to better their areas.
