The first Executive Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Mr. John Adayilo, who was a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has led hundreds of PDP members to join the ruling All Progressive Party (APC) in Rubochi, Kuje Area Council of Abuja.

The Chairman of the APC in the FCT, Abdullmalik Usman, who received the decampees at Rubochi, said a new era has emerged for the party with the movement of large members of people from opposition political parties to the ruling APC.

“We are happy that people are now recognising the good work that APC is doing for the nation, starting from the president to the area councils. I will advise APC members to eschew bitterness, unnecessary internal rivalry and work with elected officials for the success of the party in every area where the administration has focused its attention,” he said.

“This is the time for action and the APC must learn from its own mistakes and the errors of other political parties. It is now a challenge for the ruling party to perform and win public confidence,” the former chairman added.

He promised to mobilise his supporters to work and ensure that APC wins future elections in the Federal Capital Territory [FCT].

One of the decampees, who is the former Local Education Authority [LEA] Secretary in Kuje Area Council, Mr. Sunday Danlami Kaka, urged politicians to join hands with the APC to lift Rubochi and develop the area.

The APC Chairman in Kuje Area Council, Mr. Godwin Poyi, said the party will not require to campaign for votes in Rubochi and environs because the people of the areas have received the party well and the next election will be won by the party.

The incumbent Executive Chairman, Kuje Area Council, Alhaji Abdullahi Danladi Galadima, expressed delight that communities are now identifying with the party because of the good programmes being pursued by the party after their initial reluctance to join the APC.

He welcomed the decampees on board the APC ship, urging them to feel free to contribute positively to the growth of the party and the advancement of Kuje Area Council.
