Pdp Signs N11.5b Contract For Secretariat Complex by Nobody: 9:13am On Mar 11, 2010 |
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday signed the contract for construction of its new National Secretariat at the sum of N11.5 billion. A mobilisation fee of N2 billion was paid to the French firm, BNL Limited, that won the contract. However, chairman of the finance committee for the construction of the party secretariat, Acting President, Goodluck Jonathan, was absent at the signing. The contractual agreement was signed at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata House, with BNL given 126 weeks to deliver. National Chairman of PDP, Vincent Ogbulafor, at the ceremony stated that the new complex, when completed would further strengthen the capacity of PDP to discharge its role in the country’s political process. The new secretariat complex, he disclosed, will comprise 12 floors with two floors as parking space. Ogbulafor stated that the contract was won by BNL Limited after a transparent and competitive process. The money for the project, he said, was raised through levies and contributions from members of the party. “PDP has scored another first being the only political party in this democratic dispensation to build a befitting permanent National Secretariat. “ http://www.independentngonline.com/DailyIndependent/Article.aspx?id=10122 |

With this kinda economy, they wanna spend that much money in building complex for themselves. I will love to know where the money came from? I will love to know if there is no Nigerian contractor that could do the job, and they have to award it to some foreigners . . . . . I think we need a made in Nigeria service rule. This is total nonsense |
