Hon. Gudaji Kazaure of Katsina state, a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives representing Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Yankwashi Constituency, was captured in a video in one of the house’s session, sharing his thoughts on family planning and how it affects Muslims.

According to the Honourable Member of the House, “telling a Muslim to do family planning, is telling him to violate his religion; because there’s no planning in Islam”. The video has generated lots of controversy on social media. Here is it below;

I saw the thread yesterday and as expected, our good people of nairaland did not disappoint with their responses.

Talk is cheap and from the manner by which words are being spoken, different responses can be achieved. A man telling a another that his fly is open could either get a frown or a thank you depending on if he had said same in public or in private hearing. Except you can 100% certify what the afterlife is by dying and coming back or even taking him along for the ride, this man would never listen to your version of it as he like many others in one religion or the other lives in fear of missing even just one step that could delist him from a wonderful paradise after death. Raining abuses or snubs on him or his beliefs would only do more to make him feel like a martyr being persecuted for trusting what an higher power than yourself decreed him do.

A better way and I believe making this life pattern would have gotten even a second thought result or even better an acceptance of child control in a form that would at least be acceptable to him. A simple search on Islam on family planning yielded this facebook extract amongst others

d) Coitus Interruptus (‘Azl):
Coitus Interruptus is permissible as long as it is performed with mutual consent of both the husband and wife since both of them have equal right to have children.
*This is based on the Hadith of Jabir (RA) who said: “We used to practice (‘Azl) coitus interruptus during the days when the Qur’an was being revealed”.Jabir added: “We used to practice coitus interruptus during the lifetime of Allah’s Messenger while the Qur’an was being revealed.” (Sahih Bukhari vol. 7, Hadith no. 136)
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:
“With regard to ‘azl, some of the scholars regarded it as haraam, but the view of the four imams is that it is permissible with the wife’s permission. And Allah nows best.” (Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 32/110)

By now all of us religious folks know that taking scripture parts in bits could lead people astray and even worse so if remodelled by evildoers but we can do better by bringing forth the parts that would do ourselves and the rest of mankind good just as Dr Zakir from the facebook link above did.

In general, there is always a better way of approach that could make someone who would have been a sworn enemy into a lifelong brother.
