Portuguese Civil defence authorities said At least 31 people has been killed in a wildfire outbreak in central and north Portugal, during the weekend.

According to spokeswoman, about 145 fires has been released, so as to tackle the situation but the fires is considered serious.

More than 50 people has been injured in Portugal but 15 reportedly to be in a critical condition, whereas several people are still missing including a month-old baby.

Meanwhile thousands of fire fighter has been deployed to the scene, as three lives where lost in Spain’s Galicia region, across border.

Also, in Spain two of the victims were found burned-out car by the side of the road

State of emergency has been declared in Portugal north of the Tagus river, which is almost half of the country’s land area.

The Portuguese deaths were in the Coimbra, Guarda, Castelo Branca and Viseu areas and at least a dozen roads were closed, as well as schools in some places.
