JOB DESCRIPTION:

Planning

Assist the Board of Directors in formulating and implementing the company’s future strategic direction
and supporting tactical initiatives for all arms of the business.

Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
Develop and oversee Sales & Marketing, financial and tax strategies
Vet and Manage the capital request and budgeting processes (Asset and Inventory Acquisitions)
Develop Products, processes and people performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction
Operations

Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team and staff.
Provide direct management of key functional managers and executives in the business unit(s).i.e.
Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Human resources, Workshop, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury departments.

Oversee the financial operations of business units, subsidiary companies, spin-off companies and foreign operations.
Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced to ensure Value for Money of Maximum return on Investment.
Oversee the company’s Business process systems on a day to day basis.
Implement operational best practices by making daily best of judgement decisions to protect the interest of the company.
Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package.
Supervise acquisition(s) performing due diligence checks and negotiating acquisitions on behalf of the Board.
Financial Information

Oversee the issuance of financial information
Liaise with foreign and local suppliers.
Personally, review and approve, track, all Form M, Q for importation and filings with register.
Report financial results to the board of directors in a timely manner.
Risk Management

Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.
Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry.
Improve existing, Construct and monitor reliable internal control systems.
Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. NAFDAC, SON, LIRS, FIRS, Local Govt. Permits, etc.
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors.
Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
Funding

Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
Working capital management.
Advisory on funds investments
Third Parties

Participate in meetings with any of the stakeholders in the business (Internal and External).
2. Represent the company with investment bankers and investor

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Desired Qualifications: The candidate for the General Manager Role should have a BSc/BA degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience.

Preferred candidate: Should have worked in the Manufacturing and Trading Sectors. MSc/MBA is a plus.

Mid level to Top Level Experience in the: Paints, Industrial Chemicals & Solvents, Petroleum or Manufacturing industry would be an added advantage for prospective candidates.

Working Conditions: Will work in an office environment. Extensive travel to company subsidiaries/Dealers/Branches will be necessary.
Salary : NGN 180,000/Per month
Location: Lagos Mainland- Yaba
Highly subsided rent (Two bed Room Apartment)-10 mins walk from the office.
