Aiteo Cup Champions Akwa United FC has arrived Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital. The team had a rousing welcome by thousands of supporters at the Akwa Ibom International Airport. Present at the airport to welcome the Champions were the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh, Media Aides to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Uwemedimoh Umanah and Essien Ndueso. The team emerged champions of the maiden edition of the Aiteo Cup after defeating Niger Tornadoes 3-2 on penalties, at the Agege Stadium in Lagos. This feat will see Akwa Utd represent the country at the 2018 CAF confederations cup.
