INTELS founder Volpi apologises to the FG and Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). He said INTELS will reconcile with the NPA and abide by the TSA.

However, Hadiza Bala Usman says NO! She states there will be no change of mind on the termination of the Intels contract.

“They (INTELS) maintained their stand not to make payment to NPA. They want to deduct 28 per cent commission and other costs.

NPA says a TSA account has been opened and that at the end of the month, there will be reconciliation of accounts but INTELS refused.

Will I spend 15 months talking to a company to comply with the constitution of the country?” she asked.

Message to companies: do not try to ride roughshod over a CEO or MD who is committed to their job and to doing it well.

It seems obvious that Volpi and Atiku thought they were so well connected politically that when Hadiza began questioning their unconstitutional contract 15 months ago, they ignored her. Despite her many attempts to get them to renegotiate and abide by the terms of the TSA, they snootily refused.

Apparently INTELS refused to attend several meetings Ms Usman tried to arrange since April to resolve this issue. Now that the contract has been terminated, they are screaming job losses, being a huge employer, threatening arbitration, trying to get NASS to force the NPA to back down, and now finally capitulating and apologising??

Sorry o! When a FG-owned entity tells a company it does business with, that the company MUST abide by the dictates of the TSA, that company better receive sense! TSA is here to stay.

Oh, and Hadiza's final caustic retort to INTELS re their claim of job losses?? She said any new company the NPA contracts can absorb and employ INTELS old employees.

Ouch! ~ Bucky 2017.

It is only our brother from the land the sun will never rise, the kingdom of hatred that will not see anything good in this decision. Even if skewed I wonder why or how a foreign business should have the effrontery to dictate terms n condition to the govt of the federation.
