Good morning nairalanders, Personally, i don't believe in cutting of cakes during birthday but I want to know the main reason behind this act. I had an argument with my girlfriend when I took my friends to a bar to celebrate my birthday and all we did was to take drinks and asun but when I showed my girlfriend the pics she got irked slightly for not baking a cake. she said it brings blessings and signifies decency, i was utterly surprised when she said this, i told her to calm down and pleaded because I don't want to engage in a long banter with her over this subject matter. I'm still surprised 'cos I don't see any significance of cake cutting during birthday. is it a tradition or a received or copied one? why do we have to cut cakes during birthday? is there any reason behind it? how did it start?
I really want to clear my doubts and satisfy my curiosity.. Thanks in anticipation of your responses.
