Crave Kitchen is in need of a World-Class Head Chef to handle its Food Business operations.


Role of the Chef department

Successful candidate will oversees a restaurant's kitchen by managing other members of the food preparation team, deciding what dishes to serve and adjusting orders to meet guests' requests. May assist in prep work, such as chopping vegetables, but more often will be involved in cooking specialty dishes. Chooses ingredients and designs a menu based on the seasonal availability of food items. Creates unique dishes that inspire guests to come back again and again to see what is new in the restaurant.

Principal Duties/Tasks and responsibilities

• Receipt and storage of all provisions, fresh and frozen, in accordance with current food hygiene regulations including correct stock rotation and storage. Ensuring that all food is labelled clearly and correctly.
• Follow the budget established by the General Manager
• Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
• Develop recipes and determine how to present the food
• Plan menus and ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
• Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to customers in a timely fashion
• Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies
• Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards
• Keep up with industry trends and create new recipes in collaboration with the General Manager
• Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role



Requirement & Qualifications:

• Experience of working within a Food Restaurant business
• A proven experience as Head Chef will be an added advantage
• Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
• Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Physical fitness – able to bend & lift
• Committed to a Catering career aimed towards progressing to a chef
• Able to work well both as an individual and as part of a team
• Cheerful & co-operative disposition
• Smart & tidy appearance
• Good communication and listening skills
• Flexible approach and accepting of change
• Willingness to undertake further training and learn new skills
• Credentials in health and safety training
• Degree in Culinary science or related certificate will be an added advantage
