Whether your children are toddlers or teens, there'll be times when it's difficult to break through and find out what is going on their minds. Here're tips on how to create opportunities for your children to open and share their lives with you through communication.

1. Don't try too hard to let them talk

2. Slow down your own life and be available

3. Engage in a physical activity that they enjoy

4. Be as non-judgmental as possible because once they feel they won't be judged when they talk to you, they'll have no reason to hold back.
