Every eemployer knows that money is what motivates us on d job. We don't need to say it and they don't need to say it. Every body knows money is the underlying factor so you don't have to start hammering on it during the interview. Tell them all the other things that motivates you. That's what they want to know.
You can talk about money during salary negotiation

I like money too. But there are other things that motivate me:

Challenges. . . . I like to solve proffer solutions naturally so where there is a challenge, I'm motivated

Recognition

A non toxic work environment

Steady career growth

Promotion

Family time

I'll think of more later

I do love money o. Don't get me wrong. An OK salary to plus the list above is enough to make me excited about work.

BiafraBushBoy, it is true you are worth a lot. Ever since your memoir of a sex addict, I became your number one fan instantly.

Why are there interviews sef? Can't they just give the job and if you don't perform well within 2 weeks, sack the employee. Lol.

I really admire your boldness in stating what you want clearly.
However, money should be too small to motivate a person. I agree that a person should be duly recompensed for work done as at when due but money is not enough to measure a person's worth.
A person will get motivated when he/she is fulfilling the purpose for their life. The joy a person derives from this is much more motivation than money can give.
Cheers

Money doesnt motivate lack of money demotivates. Ur a leaner op. Take a look at these 2 pple. Both accountants. One gets a job in an oil coy as a treasurer collecting 500k per annum. The oda in an audit firm collecting 100k does acca and other courses. In 7 years time. Mr treasurer is still a treasurer but the oda guy is now a manager. So if a position is available in d oil coy for manager or cfo. Who dem go give. Money only motivates when u receive first salary.
so d guy collecting 500k cant go for courses and in 7 yrs time be a bigger manager... Wat has d amount being paid to these two individuals, got to do with their personal dreams n' aspirations.

Speak for yourself.

Bankers would disagree.

Job security with lower pay trumps no security and jumbo pay.

In an uncertain environment any paycheck could be your last.

bankers! most pitied employees by me!
which bank guarantee you job security!
for the past 2 decade! what u see is use for 2-5 yrs, let you off / they recruit new personell_

..they say Love of money is the root of all evil! I tell you money answerth all things!

..I rather get jumbo pay for 1 -5 year, use money start up my own investment & face the risks! than spend 35 years waiting for Financial freedom/ security that you will not get as an Employee!

..3 generation must not make the same mistake! ...

...MONEY IS TOOL! Your Knowledge is what meant help u acquire this tool! why waste/ spending 18yrs & continuum acquiring D's knowledge! not get Value for yourself!

Its not always money, I turned down an offer with money pay, because my current jobs offers me more free time, and right now, i need that time for other things.

I have also taken a lower paying job before, to move to another company with a higher position. That position gave me the opportunity to be at my new place, heading a department in a multinational.

So, it is not always about money.
Good evening, I see that you're probably in a decision making position in your organisation. Can I please send mg CV across so you can take a look? Thanks

So that means if the business gets tough later, you'd run and leave them because the money isn't coming in like before?

Put yourself in the employer's shoes, someone is only coming to work for you because of the salary he is earning, that's his own greatest motivation. Would you employ him or nor? grin

It's LadyF again. grin grin grin
the same employer won't think twice before he sacks you! Employers don't put themselves in your shoes before they sack you!

Like I said during salary negotiation.
Also you need to sing your praises during the entire interview telling them the value you will bring the organization.

Who told you the treasurer cant progress in his/her treasuring job? The treasurer's pay can be increased & may also be promoted or get better offer from another firm.
The truth the op is saying is: one should earn a reasonable pay especially if the person is doing a quality job.
