A request in a motion to the house to urge the Federal Government of Nigeria to as a matter of priority see to the establishment of Gelegele and declaring it an Export and Import Free Trade Zone is appropriate and worthy of commendation.

I believe that the respected West Idahosa is growing grey on legislative matters following his response to the Motion moved recently on Gelegele by Hon. EJ. Gele-gele can not be a Constituency Project. If all appropriations for Constituency works are put together it is still inappropriate.

The Hon. EJ Agbonayinma's Motion was just a one Prayer Request, that the House resolve to tell the Executive to #Prioritise the functioning of #Gelegele and declare it an Export and Import Free Trade Zone with bountiful benefits for both the Locals, State and the Country in general.

This resolve does not subject the regulators which is the #Executive to mandatory actions but #Persuasive.

It is therefore sad a commentary that an Ex-Lawmaker in the person of West Idahosa's pedigree wants to be writing motions sadly without pecuniary gains.

The intent and the spirit of the Motion moved by Hon. EJ Agbonayinma is worthy of commendation, asking the Federal Government to #Prioritise its actions and objectives is an appropriate call.

Again West Idahosa insisting for other Lawmakers from Edo to be part of it beclouds my mind, when we are all witnesses of his egocentric style of lawmaking. He needs to rejig his brains to key into legislative business.

All Motions, Bills, Petitions and Announcements are listed in the notice papers days before the beginning of a new legislative week.

West Idahosa please tell us what you have done to advance the collective gains of the Benins and Edo State at large? A million Edolites are asking.

This post is not for praise singing neither to rubbish personalities, but rather for every Edolite to rally support for this motion to ensure that it sees the light of the day.

Whether the person who has moved the Motion is from another Constituency is of less importance, but what is #Sacrosanct is to see to the establishment of Gelegele Seaport by the Federal Government.

The FG can barely build any infrastructure these days with all the 80% recurrent expenditures and debt servicing and these ones expect the FG to build a Seaport for them.

Can they not emulate Lagos state that is building a Seaport in Ibeju-Lekki or Akwa-Ibom state that has started work on Ibom deep sea port?

They will wait forever.
