We used to believe that the United States has the most advanced and fastest of technology, but when it comes to the 4G LTE network, the country is seriously lagging behind in terms of speed. In a recent study by OpenSignal, which surveyed over 77 countries and measured the speed of their 4G LTE, the United State's 4G LTE network only managed to find itself in the 61st position.

The survey was carried out between July 1 and October 1, and from the result, the United State's 4G LTE speed averaged 13.98 Mbps. That of Singapore, which is the fastest among the tested countries, averaged 46.64 Mbps. Other countries with very fast 4G LTE network include South Korea at 45.85 Mbps; Norway at 42.03 Mbps; Canada at 29.79 Mbps; and Mexico at 22.03 Mbps.

Nigeria wasn't included in the study, but according to the result from the 4G LTE speed test on Nigerian ISPs by Folarin of PulseNG, MTN 4G's LTE is the fastest in the country, with a speed of 25 Mbps. And that’s 11.02 Mbps faster than the average in the United States.

However, the other ISPs in Nigeria aren’t impressive in the speed of their 4G LTE network. Folarin claimed Etisalat’s 4G LTE could only muster 4.4 Mbps, and Glo's 4G LTE is erratic, not giving room to speed test. And as we all know, Airtel is still planning on rolling out its 4G LTE network.
