Former Head of State , General Abdulsalami Alhaji Abubakar was honoured by Modibbo Adama University of Technology, MAUTECH, Yola with Honourary Degree (Honoris Causa ).

The momentous event held on Saturday 4th November, 2017 at the University Convocation Square, Yola.

Also honoured by MAUTECH were Alhaji Muhammadu Mubi, a renowned teacher and Comrade Hassan Adebayo Sunmonu, an oustanding Labour leader.

The University revealed that Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar and the other recipients were honoured for their services to nation and humanity.

The University orator described Gen Abdulsalami as a global peace activist who played prominent role along other Nigerians to ensure smooth elections and transition of power in 2015.

While the University described Alhaji Muhammadu Mubi as a disciplined and dedicated teacher, Comrade Hassan Sunmonu was described as a principled and dedicated Labour leader.
