Delta state is situated in the region known as the South-South geo-political zone with a population of 4,098,291, Delta state is also an oil and agricultural producing State of Nigeria, with her capital city Asaba, located at the northern end of the State with an estimated area of 762 square kilometres (294 sq mi), while Warri is the economic nerve center of the State and also the most populated. It's located in the southern end of the State. The State has a total land area of 16,842 square kilometres (6,503 sq mi).

Reflecting our strong conviction that deliberate government focus and action is needed to stem the tide of rising unemployment, our intervention strategy will combine time-tested and trusted quick-win schemes and long-term plans for job/wealth creation in the state.
Delta State has comparative advantages in many commodities, including oil palm, cassava, vegetables and many other livestock enterprises.

• Programs
There are four programs currently available on the Delta state job/wealth creation which are listed below:


• YAGEP
YAGEP involves the training and development of youth entrepreneurs in agriculture and agribusiness and equipping participants to establish their own enterprises.


• STEP
STEP encompasses the training of youths in different skills/trade and helping them to establish their own enterprises for self-employment and to become employers of labour.


• PPSP
PPSP is an agricultural value chain support programme designed to upscale the use of modern inputs and technologies, increase outputs and productivity of crop.


• AGRO-INDUSTRIES
This programme involves the establishment of agro-processing plants and agro-allied factories for value-addition to agricultural commodities produced by farmers.
