Britain has so many rich countries who happens to be her former colony. Examples are America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong etc

It's not like other countries stole more than UK. The reasons are because
1) In most of the former colonies of UK you mentioned, we have European settlers dominating the locals such as native Americans (American Indians) in USA& Canada, Aboriginals in Australia nd Maori people in New Zealand. These white Europeans later became majority nd help these geographical places to develop nd compete with the rest of the world. They brought their civilization nd education along with them. Same thing is the case of South Africa.

2) Besides UK left these SUCCESSFUL countries early enough for them to recover from colonialism nd develop themselves. Though, they didn't leave them out of goodwill, for instance United States fought UK to secure her independence while they they had to leave Australia for its dangerous animals nd tropical environment (in fact Australia was initially established as a Depot ground for prisoners nd hardened criminals)

3) Most of the former colonies of France are in Africa. I don't think I have to tell you more on why they are less successful considering they are Africans. In fact former French colonies in southeast Asia like Cambodia, and Vietnam are receiving numerous visa applications from Africans everyday. Former Spanish nd Portuguese colonies in South America too are not doing bad: Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile etc

4) Another thing why it seems the highlighted former colonies of UK are doing well has nothing to do with UK but with the enormous size of those countries. USA being the third largest country in the world in both size nd population means more human capital nd more natural resources, and this actually help them since they could harness this well considering their level of civilization being European majority. (China nd particularly India are enjoying human resources too.). Canada being 2nd largest in the world nd Australia coming 5th (behind China) are also enjoying the huge natural resources with less human dependants in both countries.

At the height of the British empire was when Colonialism was introduced, the British navy after defeating the Spanish Armanda became the most powerful navy in the world, With this power, they laid claims to the best of lands and populated the country with very literate citizens, the citizens became enlightened and continued to move their countries in the direction of prosperity except our Nigeria where tribal influence, nepotism and religion became the order of the day.

If the francophones detached completely, how come they are still poorer than countries colonized by Britain. It's indisputable that Britain has many rich countries who were her former colony.
