Patrice Evra has been sacked by Marseille following the French defenders seven-month ban from UEFA competitions after kicking a fan in the head. Evra’s contract has been terminated by ‘mutual consent’ with ‘immediate effect’ the club announced. The French defender clashed with his own supporters before the Europa League fixture with Vitoria last week, and aimed an acrobatic attack at one person. The statement from the French club came moments after Uefa issued their punishment for the incident. Uefa announced that he has been banned from all European club games until June 30, 2018 and fined £8,829. The former France captain has not yet made a statement.
