Nnamdi Kanu Sacked As IPOB Leader by ismhab(m): 10:49am On Nov 13, 2017
FRANCISCO, November 12, (THEWILL) – Security agencies were in a frenzy of activities in Abuja from early Sunday when Radio Biafra, the controversial mouthpiece of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) returned to the airwaves with a 6.am to 7.am broadcast announcing the shocking sack of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as IPOB leader.

That announcement sacking Kanu was exactly what kept the security agencies worried, because it could mean that another arm of IPOB may have mutated just as IPOB mutated from Raph Uwazuruike’s Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).

A top national security source told THEWILL thus: “All had been quiet on the IPOB front recently. The organization has been receding from the public consciousness as many Igbo people began to openly talk against the separation and disunity agenda of IPOB. The Federal Government has been reaching out to the South-East and their State Governors have taken a hard stand against IPOB accusing the organization of pursuing anti-Igbo interests; now comes this totally new and unexpected development”.

At the height of the IPOB controversy the national unity was greatly tasked when Northern youths issued Igbo people resident in the North a quit notice.

The radio’s programme started with the lady announcer who gave her name as Ifeoma Okorafor, stating that the radio was back on air and IPOB was restructuring. She then announced that “Mazi Nnamdi Nwanekaenyi Kanu, the former Director of Radio Biafra is hereby dismissed and removed as Director of Radio Biafra following extensive and intensive consultations”. She named “Mazi Ezenwachukwu Sampson Okwudili as Kanu’s replacement.”

Kanu has not been seen publicly since he fled Abia State after the military raided his family compound some months back.

The reasons the Radio Biafra announcer gave for Kanu’s removal included:

(A) Personalization of the Biafran struggle and derailing from the core objectives of IPOB as a grassroots movement.

(B) Kanu’s actions and his decisions to incite members of IPOB towards violence leading to the death of many innocent young people in Onitsha, Aba and Umuahia is totally unacceptable and grossly irresponsible.

(C) Kanu privately collected £14m and another $22m to purchase landed properties abroad in his name and that of his father Igwe Israel Kanu in a clear case of monkey dey work baboon dey chop.

(D) Kanu turned our collective struggle into a money-making enterprise for himself and his father. Thus the monies contributed by enterprising and hard-working Igbo youths across the world are being collected and converted by one man and his father while pretending to be sacrificing for the cause.

(E) Upon his release from detention in April 2017, one expected Kanu to drum up support for the release of his colleagues and co-detainees such as Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi. These are our brothers who were arrested at the same time with him and they should not be forgotten. We hereby demand their release. Kanu, since his release, has never spoken about them or appealed for the release of these our freedom fighters. Instead, he has been going about collecting chieftaincy titles and having a messianic swagger that even allowed full-blooded Igbomen to kneel down and kiss his feet.

(F) Kanu threw away the original meaning of our collective struggle for personal gain and vain glorification. IPOB believes in democracy as a solid base of any modern state, the rule of law, and will always reject violence in all its ramifications.

The security agencies do not as yet know what to make of this new development in IPOB.

The sack of Mazi Kanu is only the latest change in the checkered history of Radio Biafra, which began as the mouthpiece of MASSOB. It later announced the sacking of MASSOB founder, Uwazuruike as its Director and MASSOB leader and replaced him with Uchenna Madu “in the task of chasing down and overcoming the enemies of Biafra” according to a statement signed by Uche Mefore as the radio’s Deputy Director.

Nnamdi Kanu himself would also distance himself and his deputy, Uche Mefor, when Radio Biafra began to broadcast from the US, after Nigeria jammed its signals from Britain.

Now, those behind this latest incarnation of Radio Biafra would obviously not have sought Kanu’s permission; it actually sacked him in its first broadcast. But the security agencies are not rejoicing because, as a source put it “the saying that the devil you know is better than the angel you do not know is particularly true in security circles. See it this way; Kanu had issued an order that the people of Anambra state should boycott the gubernatorial elections and people told him he was talking nonsense. That was the end of his moral authority. Now we have to return to the drawing board to learn about those behind this latest development. It’s frustrating.”

IPOB press Statement
Today: 11-11-2017
The leadership and family members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the prophet of our time, do hereby call on every Biafran, both home and abroad, particularly indigenes and friends of our brothers and sisters living in Biafraland to prepare for the total boycott and lock down of Anambra State on Saturday next week being the 18th November 2017.
It is imperative for all, especially those residing outside the borders of Biafraland, to make contact with their respective families at home, to convey the reason why every Biafran must boycott all future Nigerian elections, including this upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial scheduled for the 18th of November 2017 which is next week Saturday.
It is also very critical to inform every Biafran, be you IPOB family member, businessman, farmer, artisan, driver, teacher, doctor, Okada/Tricycle Union, civil servant, trader, market leader, LUBAN, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), NILODAS, fisherman, market men and women, including politicians who believe in freedom and liberty of a free independent State of Biafra, to boycott this Anambra State election. The successful boycott of this coming election will convey in unequivocal terms, our never say die determination and resolve to restore Biafra at all cost. The 18th November Anambra State election boycott will guarantee our agitation unprecedented global momentum that would move world leaders to accept the inevitable democratic and peaceful break-up of Nigeria. They will be morally bound to consider a possible date for Biafra referendum for independence without delay. A vote in Anambra elections will on the other hand mean electing into office the same people who over the years have been responsible for the death, pain, misery, agony and suffering of our people. We would have only succeeded in renewing our suffering for another four years.
We IPOB recognize the suffering of other ethnic groups all over Nigeria and would genuinely wish their humiliation and difficulties to be brought to an end. We want every ethnic group in Nigeria to be free from the bondage of colonial amalgamation imposed on everybody. Therefore, it would be desirable for those championing for true change to embrace this act of civil disobedience championed by IPOB to liberate all oppressed people in Nigeria. If every component part of Nigeria were to adopt total election boycott, power will return to the people and things will change for the better for everybody. As long as we keep voting the same band of criminals into political positions every four years, things will never change because they are taking is for granted. They know that no matter how poorly they treat us, once every four years we return them to power with the help of INEC. Suffering, hardship, poverty, suicide and hopelessness will continue to be on the rise unless we take our destiny in our hands and this election boycott is a golden opportunity to send a clear and unmistakable message to the corrupt establishment that things can no longer go on this way. The power to force a change through is in our own hands. If you vote, you have handed over that power to INEC to declare whoever they want as the winner. Voting under the present corrupt electoral system in Nigeria superintended by INEC is wilful slavery. The same criminals will continue to emerge to inflict more misery upon the majority.
We the people of Biafra have therefore decided to prove to the entire world that we desperately need liberty and freedom through the instrumentality of civil disobedience beginning with election boycott in Anambra State come Saturday next week. The whole world is watching to see if we can match our determination with tangible, measurable outcome.
Everywhere around the world today people are writing and commenting on the Biafra/IPOB/Nnamdi Kanu phenomenon, including the upcoming election boycott in Anambra State. This is despite the concerted effort of the Buhari regime to cajole, bribe and intimidate media houses not to cover Biafra related issues on mainstream media platforms.
We IPOB expect nothing short of total boycott and paralysis of Anambra State on election day next week, in line with our legendary discipline and obedience to command. We advise everyone to stay indoors on that particular day because Nigerian soldiers will kill as many people as possible out of frustration and anger as they always do whenever Aso Rock loses any moral argument.
Other ethnic groups in Nigeria must understand that IPOB under the visionary leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not pushing for an independent Biafra state to spite any tribe or group of persons but rather to provide a chance for decent living, under liberty and freedom, for Biafran generations unborn. We cannot in all honesty continue to tolerate this life of mediocrity and miserable existence we are forced to endure in this Luggardian contraption. It will be tantamount to abdication of responsibility to posterity should we in this present generation, fold our hands and hope that the present crop of selfish politicians with their skewed political structure will turn our fortunes around. What goes on in Abuja in the name of modern governance is a pathetic joke that no sane mind should condone. If other ethnic groups cannot see the irredeemable mess Nigeria is in then we Biafrans can and will do everything possible to set our people free.
IPOB is fully committed towards the restoration of Biafra independence no matter the human and material cost. Biafra must become an independent nation and as a consequence other ethnic groups that presently make up what we know as Nigeria will be liberated too. Only then will a union of free ethnic groups emerge to create a civilized country out of their own volition not brute force. What we have today as Nigeria is a British creation not African. It is only morally right for Africans to be allowed to create and most importantly define their own countries of choice. Who knows, one day Biafra as an independent nation may go into a union with other ethnic groups to form a larger country with the consent of their respective peoples. That is how true nation states emerge, not through force of arms. Our freedom for Biafra independence is loading and there is nothing anybody can do to stop it.
COMRADE EMMA POWERFUL MEDIA AND PUBLICITY SECRETARY FOR IPOB.
