The Kenyan government has placed a ban on the importation of second hand vehicles whose first year of registration is below 1st January 2011. The announcement was made through a notice in a local newspaper by Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). “We wish to notify all importers of used second hand motor vehicles including returning residents, diplomatic staff and the genera public that only motor vehicles that whose year of first registration is from 1st January 2011 and later shall be allowed into the country as from 1st January 2018.” Read part of the notice. |
