It's difficult to believe that Yul Edochie could not gather up to 200 votes across the LGA's in Anambra. The youths must be serious before they come up with "youths must occupy" approach. This has nothing to do with money. If your goodwill can not attract at least 10k votes, you should have no business disturbing and deciving people that you want to run for governorship. To be a state governor requires seriousness, experience and massive spontaneous support from the electorates. Aside what money, influence and and contact can do, there is need for a supposed candidate to have personal goodwill and support which can at least get some meaningful votes for him/her.

The idea that contesting for governorship or any elective position makes one popular is very foolish and childish. People should know why they can do and what they can not do. Governorship is not for those with learners permit but for those who have prepared very well to handle the difficult task of leading a state. You don't make contacts that can develop your state when you become governor, you must have them ready waiting for your people to elect you for you to put them into use. A state governor requires more than federal allocation and other things that comes from the federal government to develop a state. You must have a wider reach and contact with both National and International organisations and must make your state attractive for them to come in.

The youths should stop ridiculing themselves and get prepared before they aspire for any position. The fact that a governorship candidate could not get up to 200 votes across the state is most ridiculing. People should know what they can do. That you raised hands and people responded shouldn't make you think you can win governorship elections. The capacity must be there. The structure must be there. The natural support must be there. The sincerity, the traceable antecedents and integrity must be there for people to give you their votes. An unprepared youth will offer an unprepared style of leadership.
